A boat day does not have to mean a long sea crossing. West of Split you can visit two easy places. Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage old town built on a small island. The Blue Lagoon (Krknjaši) is a shallow bay near Drvenik Veli island, with clear water over white sand. Each trip from Split takes 20 to 40 minutes. Together they make a perfect half-day or full-day trip.

The Blue Lagoon: when to go
Índice
The lagoon is beautiful, and almost every group tour from Split goes there. This is the same crowding problem as on the Corrida da Caverna Azul (a famous sea cave near Vis island). Between 11:00 and 15:00 in August, about thirty boats share the bay.
The fix is simple: go before 10:30 or after 16:00. Then only a few sailboats are there. Group tours cannot change their time. A private boat can.
A sandbar between Drvenik Veli and the small island of Krknjaš keeps the water waist-deep and very clear. It is rare to see white sand in Dalmatia, where most beaches are pebbles and rock. Snorkelling is easy and safe for children. Bring masks, because the sea grass holds more life than you expect.
Trogir em duas horas
Trogir is a small town with narrow stone streets. Here is what to see:
- Kamerlengo fortress — a 15th-century fort built by the Venetians.
- The Radovan portal — the carved stone door of St Lawrence’s cathedral.
- The old streets — they are very narrow, and there are many gelato (ice cream) shops.
Walk slowly around the town. Then have lunch, for example čevapi (grilled minced meat). Arriving by boat is easy: you stop at the old-town seafront promenade (called the riva) and do not need to find parking. If you have a third hour, climb the cathedral bell tower. You can see the lagoon and the mountains from the top. Then have a coffee on the riva and watch the yachts pass under the Čiovo bridge (Čiovo is the island next to Trogir).
Como fazer isso em 2026
| Opção | Como funciona | Custo |
|---|---|---|
| Passeio de lancha em grupo | Fixed 4–5 hour loop, about 10–12 people, you reach the lagoon at the busy time | ~€55–75 per person |
| Public bus to Trogir | Cheap, but you cannot visit the lagoon | Cerca de €4 a €8 por trecho |
| Táxi aquático particular (Dalmatia Express) | Any time, 24/7, on your schedule. Door-to-door from Split. Split Airport pickup available. Sails when group tours cancel. Early lagoon, Trogir lunch, then a swim at a quiet cove. | from ~€400–700 per boat (fair for groups of 4–10) |
A private boat costs more than the bus, but it gives you the lagoon and your own timing. For a group, the price per person is close to a group tour. See our private taxi boat from Split to nearby Šolta island, ou Contate-nos to plan your Trogir and Blue Lagoon day.
Dica do capitão: Visit the lagoon at 08:30 and arrive in Trogir at 11:00. You swim when the lagoon is empty, and you walk through Trogir before the day-trip buses arrive at noon.
Dica do capitão #2: On the way back, ask for the south coast of Čiovo. The coves between Okrug and Slatine are where Split locals swim. They are empty even in August, because the road access is poor. By boat they are only ten minutes off the direct way home.

Do you fly out tomorrow? We can plan a farewell trip that ends at Split or at the airport dock. You check out, swim in the lagoon, eat lunch in Trogir, and go straight to your flight. Ask for the departure-day plan.
If your holiday continues on the islands, the lagoon is also a good stop on the way. Read the Guia de preços de táxi aquático para 2026 to see how per-boat prices work on custom routes. For more transport options, see the Split to Hvar transport guide.
For a good lunch, Maslinica on Šolta island is a short trip across the channel. It has a castle marina called Martinis Marchi.
Perguntas frequentes
Qual a distância entre a Lagoa Azul e Split?
It is about 12 nautical miles from Split. By speedboat the trip takes 35 to 45 minutes.
Vale a pena visitar a Lagoa Azul?
Yes, if you go before 10:30 or after 16:00. At midday in August, many boats anchor there and the water is crowded.
É possível chegar à Lagoa Azul sem um passeio guiado?
Only by boat. You can book a private charter or a group tour. There is no public ferry to Krknjaši.
Is it better to go to Trogir by boat or by bus?
The bus is cheap and takes about 30 minutes. By boat you arrive at the old-town seafront and do not need to park. You can also add the lagoon.
Is the Blue Lagoon good for kids?
Yes. The water is waist-deep over sand for about a hundred metres. Bring shade, because the small islands have little.
