Vous découvrez cet itinéraire ? Guide de transfert de l'aéroport de Split à Hvar explains every option, every operator and every 2026 price in one place.
Getting from Split Airport to the islands always means two trips, not one. The reason is simple: Split Airport (airport code SPU) is not in Split. It is in Resnik, a small place next to Kaštela, about 25 km from the ferry port in Split. It is only a few minutes from Trogir, a small historic town on the coast. It does not matter which island you want to reach. Split Airport to Hvar, Brač or Vis all follow the same pattern. First you need to reach a port. Only then can a ferry, a catamaran or a private boat take you to the island. If you miss that first step, or plan it badly, your whole day can go wrong. This guide shows every real option for Split Airport to the islands, what each one costs, and where the timing problems happen.

This surprises many first-time visitors. You land and expect to see the sea. Instead, you are inland at Kaštela, a row of small towns between the airport and Split. The city itself is still a taxi ride away. This geography decides your whole journey. A public transfer means airport → Split port → island. A private boat can pick you up in Trogir, or sail from a berth close to the airport. That skips the middle leg completely. We explain this in more detail on our Aéroport de Split à Hvar page, but the same logic applies to every island.
Conseil du capitaine : If your flight lands after about 3pm in spring or autumn, check your ferry times before you land, not after. Add 30–45 minutes to leave the plane and the terminal. Add 30–60 minutes to reach the port. In summer, add another 30–45 minutes to board early. Then compare that total with the last sailing to your island. It is tighter than most people think.
Billet de ferry ou transfert privé : le coût et le temps réels
A ferry ticket looks cheap. But you also need to get to the port, wait for the boat, and get from the island port to your hotel. Here is the honest total for a full boat of 14 people, Split Airport → Hvar Town.
| Voie publique (pire des cas) | Bateau-taxi privé (Dalmatia Express) | |
|---|---|---|
| Aéroport → Port de ferry de Split | 4 taxis × ~55 € = ~€220 (+ supplément de nuit) | Inclus — nous vous prenons en charge |
| Bateau | Catamaran €25 per person × 14 = €350 (peak season) | Un bateau privé ≈ 425 € (bateau entier) |
| Port → votre hébergement | Taxi supplémentaire + bagages | Porte à porte |
| En attendant | 45 à 90 minutes en avance, horaire fixe, au soleil | None — we leave when you land |
| Argent | ~€570 (≈ €41 per person) | ~€425 (≈ €30 per person) |
| Temps | 4 à 8 h — trouvez la ville, le port, le quai, attendez, puis traversez | 55 min, direct |
Pour un bateau complet, vous payez less per person than the “cheap” route. You also arrive hours sooner. Often you save half a day.
The same maths works for every island. A full boat of 14 costs from about 22 € par personne à Bol, 30 € à Hvar, 38 € à Vis et 66 € à Korčula. Every trip is private, door to door and available 24/7.
Qu'est-ce qui est inclus avec Dalmatia Express ?
- Private — only your group. No strangers and no crowded ferry deck.
- We meet you at the gate. Our driver takes your luggage and walks you to the boat. The crew helps you off at the other end — door to door.
- Cabine radar, équipage qualifié. Safe in rough sea. We sail when the catamarans are cancelled.
- 24h/24 et 7j/7, sur demande. Book by call, SMS or WhatsApp — even during your flight — and we are waiting when you land.
- La route panoramique. Open sea, islands and hidden bays the whole way, not a crowded car deck.
- Local advice on board. The crew can tell you the best beaches, konobas (small family-run restaurants) and places to see.
- Tarifs spéciaux sur nos circuits. Transfer guests get better prices on our Blue Cave and island trips.
- Des noms de confiance. Chosen by Mate Rimac and a James Bond film production.
La partie que personne ne vous dit : in peak season the last catamaran to Hvar Town leaves around 20:30. If you land after that — because of a delayed or late-night flight — there is no public boat until the morning. That means a hotel night in Split (€100–180) plus new tickets the next day, or hours of waiting at the port. Our closed-cabin boats run 24/7. They also sail in a bura (a strong, cold north-east wind) when the catamarans cancel.
Conseil du capitaine : 4 or more people with luggage, or any flight after about 19:00? Then the private boat usually wins on total cost, once you add taxis, tickets and a possible hotel. It always wins on time.

Se rendre de l'aéroport au port : vos options
Whichever island you want, you first need to cross the 25 km between the runway and the water. There are three main ways to do it. Each one has a different mix of time, cost and stress.
Navette aéroport. In 2026 the official shuttle bus to Split is run by a company called Platanus. It took over the route from the previous operator earlier this year. The bus goes to the main bus station in Split, which is directly opposite the ferry port. It leaves about 30 minutes after each flight lands, day and night. The price is about €10 one way or €15 return. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Most solo travellers and couples use this bus, because it drops you a short walk from the catamaran quay. Check the current timetable and price before you fly. Shuttle prices and times can change between seasons.
Bus public local. City bus line 37 also runs from the airport into Split for about €3. It is slower — around 45 to 50 minutes — because it stops in many places on the way. It is by far the cheapest option. But it is a poor choice if you have little time before your ferry.
Taxi ou transfert réservé à l'avance. A metered taxi to the ferry port in Split usually costs €40–65 and takes 30–40 minutes. There is an official price list at arrivals, but taxis use the meter, so treat any figure as a guide. A taxi to Trogir is much cheaper and quicker — about €15–30 for 10–15 minutes. This matters if Trogir is your real starting point (more on this below). A pre-booked transfer costs a little more than a taxi, but it removes the guesswork when your connection is tight.
Aéroport de Split vers les îles : comparaison complète
Here is how the public route and the private boat compare for Split Airport to Hvar, Brač, Vis and beyond. Public times include the airport-to-port leg plus the sea crossing. They assume a reasonably good connection, not a worst case. Private boat prices are per boat, not per person. One price covers your whole group.
| Île (port) | Itinéraire public depuis l'aéroport et durée totale approximative | Bateau privé, direct depuis l'aéroport/Trogir |
|---|---|---|
| Hvar (Hvar Town — the main town on Hvar island) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + catamaran (50–60 min) ≈ 1 h 30–2 h. The last catamaran back is usually around 19:00–20:30 (later in July/August), so check the current timetable | €400–900, about 55–75 min door-to-dock, no port transfer needed |
| Brač (Supetar — the main ferry port on Brač island) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + car ferry (~50 min), very frequent — up to ~22 sailings a day in peak season ≈ 1 h 20–1 h 30 | €270–900, about 35–45 min direct |
| Brač (Bol — the beach town next to Zlatni Rat, the famous long pebble beach) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + summer-only catamaran (about 55–75 min) ≈ 1 h 30–2 h. There is no car ferry to Bol | €270–900, about 35–45 min direct |
| Vis (Vis Town or Komiža — the two towns on Vis, the island furthest from Split) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + car ferry (~2 h 20) or Krilo catamaran (~1 h 30) ≈ 2–3 h total | €460–1,000, about 65–80 min direct — often the biggest time saving on this list |
| Šolta (Rogač — the ferry port of Šolta, the small quiet island closest to Split) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + car ferry (~60 min), up to 6 sailings a day in peak season ≈ 1 h 30–1 h 40 | €250–450, about 30–40 min direct — our cheapest and quickest transfer |
| Korčula (Korčula Town or Vela Luka — the old walled town and the western port of Korčula island) | Shuttle or taxi to Split port (30–40 min) + catamaran or ferry (2 h–3 h 10, several operators) ≈ 3–4 h total | €800–1,700, about 80–100 min direct — the longest crossing, but hours faster than public transport |
| Bateau-taxi privé (Dalmatia Express) | Direct from Split Airport or Trogir to any island port. 24/7, on your schedule. Door-to-door. Sails when catamarans cancel. Split Airport pickup available. Price is per boat — fair for groups of 4–10 people. | |

A few things stand out. The airport-to-port leg adds a fixed 30–40 minutes to every public journey, whatever the island. You cannot avoid this time unless you go direct by boat. The gap between public and private gets bigger the further away the island is. Vis and Korčula are where a private transfer saves the most hours, because the public ferry options are simply long. Frequency matters as much as speed. The Supetar ferry runs so often that missing one sailing costs you little time. But Bol has a summer-only catamaran and Vis has fewer sailings, so there is much less room for error. For a group of four to six sharing the cost, a private boat to Šolta or Brač is often close in price. It can cost about the same as all the shuttle tickets and ferry fares added together.
If you are looking at Hvar in particular, our Split à Hvar page goes deeper into the exact sailings and prices. If Bol is your target, our post on Comment se rendre de l'aéroport de Split à Bol en 2026 explains that route in full. Le raccourci de Trogir que la plupart des visiteurs ignorent
Split Airport is only about 6 km from Trogir — a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride. Split itself is much further away. So it makes sense to treat Trogir as your real starting point, not as an afterthought. This does not help with a public catamaran, because passenger ferries all leave from the main port in Split, not from Trogir. But with a private boat, a pickup near Trogir or at a marina close to the airport cuts out the Split-port leg completely. No shuttle, no taxi queue, straight out to sea. Most public-transport guides do not mention this.
Conseil du capitaine : If you land at an unusual hour, do not assume the public options are all closed. This includes an early-morning charter flight or a delayed evening arrival. The shuttle bus usually runs even at odd hours, because it follows the flight arrivals. But the ferries and catamarans do not. They follow a fixed daily timetable, and it does not change for your plane. A 22:00 landing might get you into Split on the shuttle without a problem. But the last boat may have left hours ago.
Là où le timing dérape réellement
On paper, a Split Airport to the islands transfer looks simple: land, bus, boat, done. In real life, three things regularly break that plan.
Late or delayed flights that miss the last catamaran. This is the most common way a Split Airport to Hvar or Brač trip goes wrong. In July and August some catamarans to Hvar run late in the evening. In spring and autumn, the last departure is usually much earlier — often 19:00–20:30. A delayed flight or a slow passport queue can use up that margin in minutes. Miss the boat, and you either pay for an unplanned night in Split or wait for the first sailing tomorrow.
Connections that simply do not fit together. Even without a delay, the shuttle bus, the walk to the port and the ferry’s boarding cut-off rarely line up. In peak season, boarding often closes 30–45 minutes before departure, because your ticket is also your seat reservation. Say the shuttle reaches the bus station at 18:35, but boarding closed at 18:30. You have missed the boat, even if you are “only five minutes late”.
Underestimating the airport-to-port leg. Because the airport is not in Split, people plan around their landing time. They forget the 30–40 minutes it takes to leave the plane, collect bags and reach the quay — before they have boarded anything.
A closed-cabin private boat solves all three problems at once. It waits for your real flight, not a printed timetable. It can often still sail in sea conditions that stop the fast public catamarans. Our Great White 49/39/35 and Lolivul 9 boats have radar and are built for exactly that kind of weather. When the catamarans stop, we are often still sailing. This is not a criticism of the ferries. They are a good option most of the time, especially for a couple landing well before mid-afternoon and going to Hvar or Supetar. But it is good to have a backup when the public schedule and your flight do not match. This is especially true for a longer trip like Vis or Korčula.
Are your dates tight, or do you arrive on a late-night flight? Send us your flight details and group size through notre page de contact. We will tell you honestly whether a private transfer saves you real time, or whether the public ferry will do the job.
Note sur la météo et les plans de secours
The fast catamarans in Dalmatia are the first boats to stop when a strong wind picks up. The two main winds are the bura (a cold north-east wind) and the jugo (a warm south-east wind). Catamaran hulls become uncomfortable or unsafe in rough waves. The larger car ferries usually keep running in weather that stops the catamarans. They are simply bigger and heavier. These ferries go to Supetar, Rogač, Stari Grad (the old port town on the north side of Hvar) and Vis. Closed-cabin private boats sit between the two. With radar on board, we can often still make a crossing when the catamarans have cancelled for the day. If you travel in spring or autumn and the forecast shows strong wind, keep a backup plan ready. Check the operator’s live status instead of trusting yesterday’s timetable.

Questions fréquemment posées
L'aéroport de Split est-il proche de la ville de Split ou du port de ferry ?
No. Split Airport (SPU) is at Resnik, next to Kaštela, about 25 km from the ferry port in Split. The drive takes about 25–35 minutes by car, or about 30 minutes on the shuttle bus. Plan for that distance in any island connection.
Quel est le moyen le plus rapide de se rendre de l'aéroport de Split à Hvar ?
A direct private boat transfer is the fastest door-to-dock option. It usually takes 55–75 minutes, with no port transfer. The fastest public option is the shuttle bus or a taxi to Split port, then the catamaran. Together this usually takes about 1.5–2 hours, if the timetable fits your flight.
Comment me rendre de l'aéroport de Split à Brač ?
Take the shuttle bus or a taxi to the ferry port in Split. Then take the frequent car ferry to Supetar (about 50 minutes, up to about 22 sailings a day in peak season). In summer there is also a catamaran to Bol. A private boat can take you directly to either port from the airport area in about 35–45 minutes.
Puis-je prendre un ferry de l'aéroport de Split à Vis, ou dois-je passer par Split ?
You need to go via the ferry port in Split. There is no ferry terminal at the airport. Plan for the airport-to-port transfer first. Then take either the Jadrolinija car ferry (about 2 h 20) or the faster Krilo catamaran (about 1 h 30) to Vis.
L'aéroport de Split est-il proche de Trogir ?
Yes. Trogir is only about 6 km away — a 10–15 minute taxi ride. It is much closer than the ferry port in Split. Public ferries do not sail from Trogir, but it is a very useful pickup point for a private boat transfer.
Que se passe-t-il si mon vol est retardé et que je rate le dernier ferry pour les îles ?
Usually you wait for the next scheduled sailing. Outside peak summer, that is often the next morning. The other option is a private boat transfer, which runs to your real arrival time and not to a fixed timetable. Check the current schedule and leave extra time if your connection is tight.
La navette de l'aéroport de Split va-t-elle directement au port des ferries ?
The shuttle goes to the main bus station in Split, directly across from the ferry port. From there it is a short walk to the quays. Confirm the current operator, price and timetable before you travel, because the shuttle arrangements at Split Airport have changed in recent years.
Est-il moins cher de prendre un taxi ou la navette depuis l'aéroport de Split ?
The shuttle bus is cheaper for one or two people: about €10 one way, compared with €40–65 for a metered taxi into Split. A taxi makes more sense for a larger group sharing the fare, or if you are going to nearby Trogir instead.
